The Clear Version of Mandibular Repositioning Therapy Correcting Severe Three-Depth Malocclusion
Abstract
Class Il jaw discrepancy is due to overgrowth of the maxilla and backward translation of the mandible, resulting in intra-orally deep overjet, deep overbite and deep curve of Spee, i.e., three depth malocclusion. The most important treatment modality is to forward reposition the mandible, leading to not only correction of three depth malocclusion, but regional adaptive remodeling of TMJ as well to support the new position of the mandible. The specially designed and customized manufactured clear S8-SGTB is used to relocate the malpositioned mandible and to correct malpositioned teeth concomitantly, therefore, to correct jaw discrepancies and three depth malocclusion efficiently and effectively. Aided by advanced digitalization and algorithm technology, the therapy manipulates lower jaw relocation and teeth movement predictably, accurately and precisely.
